BOBO
Valdosta, GA

11/15/08

Sex:
Male Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Age: 3-4 yr Health Status: UTD  on all vaccs; HW neg; microchipped
Size/Weight: Approx 17 lbs

 Please meet BoBo!
Bo is an approximately 3-4 year old male Schipperke.  He was picked up as a stray by an animal shelter in north Georgia, so we have no information on his past.
Bo is a very friendly, energetic, sweet, loving boy.  He is pretty obedient and walks well on a leash.  He is good with having a bath, being groomed, and even really good about having his nails trimmed.  Bo is good with other smaller dogs around his own size and LOVES to play.  He is not a barker, but is an alert little watch dog.  He is an inside dog and does very well about not getting into things.  He loves nothing better than to sit in our lap or by your side!
For homes with children, Bo would probably do best with school-age kids, as he might be too rambunctious for a  toddler.  Bo is neutered, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative and on Heartgard preventative and is microchipped.
Bo's adoption fee is $350 to Schipperke Club of America Rescue.  For more information and an SCA application, please email Barbara Lewis at goschips@bellsouth.net.

GILLIGAN
Mableton, GA
11/12/08

Gilligan is a 9 1/2 yr old N/male that is UTD on vaccinations. He wants to be boss and is food aggressive. He will herd and nip small running children. Most likely will not do well with another male dog. He is currently living with a female 12 yr old schip and does well most of the time but does get rough at times to dominate her. He also has mild allergy problems, mostly in warm weather so should be on a low allergen food.

Gilligan would do best in a home that has experience with the dominant dog and has no children or male dogs. He would probably prefer being an only child.

He is located in Mableton, Ga., which is about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta. For more information about Gilligan you can email his owner at aaspinney@bellsouth.net.

Gilligan is not in a rescue program. This is a courtesy listing for Gilligan's owner. Any agreements made concerning Gilligan are solely the responsibility of the owner and adopter.

SPINNER
Greensboro, MD
9/8/2008

Sex:
Male Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Age: 4 yr Health Status: Current on rabies, UTD vaccs, is HW & fecal neg.
Size/Weight: Approx 17 lbs

This is Spinner. He is a 4 years old neutered male, up to date on his shots and tested heartworm and fecal negative. He was dropped off at an animal shelter (no other information) and when picked up he had very soft pads on his feet. Having probably spent his life as an indoor Schip, he has learned to enjoy running outdoors and chewing on sticks in the yard. He was probably an only and generally plays well with other dogs. Occasionally he has a heavy mouth and would do best as the only Schip. Because of the heave mouth, it is recommended that there be no children under 10 in the family. He is not an aggressive dog. When it comes time to get pets, hugs and of course treats he will push his way to the front.

And now a few words from Spinner; “Please adopt me! Pretty Please!! They don’t feed me! My foster brother and sisters eat all my food! I am forced to do the dishes, vacuum the carpets, do laundry and they said something about painting the house. Please, get me out of here!! I need a forever home! Thank you.”

CHIP #2
Michigan
6/11/07

06051 - Chip (#2) is a 7 yr. old male (born 11/10/99). He was a man's dog and the wife just wanted him gone. So he ended up in rescue. We don't know much about him even though he was an owner turn in. He is a big male - 23 lbs. and about 14' at the shoulders. He is a bit of a sassy guy - most likely he is used to rough and tumble play with his former owner. He is a pretty cool dog - but will take some time to warm up to a new owner. He really needs an experienced Schip owner to be able to handle some of his quirks. His picture shows him in the middle stages of shedding. He really hates to be brushed.  We don't know how he is with cats.  For more info, please contact shadowskip@aol.com.

TYLER
Mirror Lake, NH
8/11/08

Sex:
Male Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Age: 7 yr Health Status: Current on rabies, UTD vaccs, is HW neg.
Size/Weight: Approx 12 lbs

Tyler is an adorable, neutered male Schipperke, about 7 years old and in good health.  He is sweet, curious, active, smart and very affectionate.  He is doing very well here with my other Schips and has spent some time with a couple of greyhounds and did well there as well.  He is UTD on all shots and current on Heartgard and Frontline.   He likes his crate but does have the run of the house and is very trustworthy.  He is potty trained but asks very quietly.  Now that we know he does not have any accidents.  He has not been exposed to cats so that is a question mark.  He came into rescue underweight and with a poor coat.  He is eating well and his coat is much fuller and richer already.  He knows all his commands but can use a little more work on come.  He love to take a few laps around the yard and then settles in easily.  He will be a great addition to any household but will be happiest in a house where he will have 2 legged or 4 legged companionship most of the time.  If you are interested in adoption Tyler please call (603)569-2156 or email dogs4nh@roadrunner.com ask for Karen.  An adoption fee applies.

TAYLOR

Taylor is a senior citizen, purebred, detailed Schipperke of unknown age and origin.  He was found abandoned or lost from his home in a stream of water, covered with ticks.  He has been freed of his ticks and fleas and has been thoroughly bathed.  Assistance will be available in getting Taylor his vaccinations.  He appears to be neutered.  Taylor is an especially sweet gentleman who seems to tolerate children and other animals well.
Taylor is in an URGENT situation and needs an immediate home or foster home.  He is in immediate danger of euthanasia if we cannot find help quickly.  If you are willing to help, please contact Susan Fogleman at schipfreak@schipperkerescue.net or call 757-926-4467.

MONKEY
Averill Park, NY
9/14/08

Hi! I'm Monkey!
Yes, I know that's probably a weird name for a dog, but I really like it. I'm very playful, smart and into everything, and I'm a little bit of a chunky monkey at that! I LOVE to eat! Do you have treats at your house? If you do, please pick me!

I was rescued out of a puppy mill. I am lucky to not live there anymore. Where I live now is much more fun because we have a yard to run around in together, and have fresh air to breathe. Did I mention the food here is top notch? I love it!   I like to be picked up and petted. I have a TON of energy even though I only weigh about ten pounds, I don't know how that much energy fits inside me. I just never seem to run out. However, on the rare occasions that I do get tired, I like to take naps in the grass in the sunshine.

I would like a home with lots going on to keep me occupied. Do you have kids? I think I would like them so long as they have very good manners.   I know I will miss my brothers but I really feel like it's time to jump into a place of my own now. I want to smell and explore the world and see how much trouble I can get into - I mean - I'll be on my best behavior - I promise! Won't you please come meet me and take me home?
(Hopefully) Your new best friend,
Monkey :)

SCARFACE
Averill Park, NY
9/14/08

Hi, I'm Scarface.
I know that's kind of a harsh name, but, it fits me. You see, when I came out of the puppy mill with my four brothers, I had a lot of scarring on my ears and nose. Believe it or not, I look a whole lot better now! If you want to see how I looked before, you can email my foster mom and she can show you a picture of me when I first got here.

Anyway, that is all behind me now. I am going to be very honest with you. I am the smartest one of my brothers. If there is trouble to be had, I will find it. If there is a hole in the fence, I will find it. If there is, well, you get the idea. That being said, I know my appearance is probably going to make some people shy away from me. I hope to someday look just like my brothers with their perfect furry noses, but I don't know. I might have some of these scars forever. I am just hoping there is someone out there who can see past my scarred nose and into my heart.

Like I said, I'm really smart, so it'd be great if my new family was smart, too. That way people would see us together and there would be no doubt that we're a family. You know how they have those contests where people look like their dogs? That's just silly. I've never seen a furry human. But you can tell when a dog and a person are made for each other. They just have that bond, that rapport, they are meant to be together. THAT is what I'm looking for. I hope you can find me all the way out here in cyberspace, but I'm sure you will find me when the time is right.

What do I like to do? I like to check and double check and triple check the fence to make sure there are no holes. I like to play with toys. I like to eat but not like my brothers. Those guys are just nuts!! You'd think they'd know by now, we get fed three times a day. It's always at the same time. It's always the same stuff. They're going to let us eat the whole bowl. Jeez Louise. I'd rather slow down and enjoy my food. Scooter is always trying to stuff his head in my bowl when I'm halfway done! I think I need some space here.

So if you're out there, please email my foster mom and come take me home. I hope you have a secure yard lined up. I can assure you I will inspect every inch of it. Or we can just take walks together - if that's ok with you, that's great with me, too.

Yours truly,
Scarface
PS - You can give me a new name too, if you'd like...

LACIE
Boring, OR
1/31/08

Sex: Female Spay/Neuter Status: spayed
Age: 1 1/2 years Health Status: current on vaccs.  Excellent health
Size/Weight: small/13 lbs

Lacie is a very sweet little girl who is 1-1/2 years old. She is a very pretty Schip who has a wonderful temperament and personality. A recent arrival in her foster home, more information about Lacie will become available as time goes by. Lacie is doing well on housetraining and leash training and crate trained. She travels nicely in the car and sleeps quietly at night (crated). She is a dog that craves attention and will provide years of devotion to new owners.
Like all Schipperkes, one must take all precautions to avoid escape potential, so a safe and secure fenced area is an absolute must. Home visits are required to check for safety and security. We prefer schip-wise home, but if you are willing to learn and be trained by a schip, you can be considered. Lacie needs to be in a home without small children (visiting children are an unknown at this time ). She would likely do well with another dog, preferably a male dog as Lacie can be a little bossy. Lacie is ready to become someone's special light!
ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available at http://www.spdrdogs.org or by calling 206-654-1117. Lacie is being available through Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue for a tax-deductible donation of $200. Call 503 - 663 - 9870 h after 6:00 pm or email monaayles@hughes.net or marketleader@integra.net to get the complete story of Lacie.

DRIFTER
Lancaster, PA
5/19/08

Sex: Male Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Age: About 1 year Health Status: No history; UTD on vaccs
Size/Weight: Tall/16 lbs

Hi, I'm Drifter and I'm a big baby!  I'm a boy about 1 year old.  I've been (ugh!) neutered and am up-to-date on all vaccinations.  I'm VERY energetic, but I get along with other Schips very well.  I just love to play and roughhouse, but I also love to snuggle and sit on your lap - well, rather crawl all over you 'cause I think people are the most wonderful thing on the planet.  I do love to chew on things and am trying to learn not to use my mouth to get your attention.  I am mostly housebroken and don't seem to have an aggressive bone in my body.  Right now, I'm starting obedience training with my temporary foster mom so I should learn a lot.  I'm a bit tall and lanky, and though maybe not as pretty as some Schips, I can look at you with such adoration that you'll fall in love with me instantly.  If you want more information about me, please contact SchipFreak@schipperkerescue.net.

Pepper is a neutered male and is about 4 years old. He is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Loves to go for walks and ride in the car. Also loves chin scritches and tummy rubs. Gets along okay with other dogs but, would prefer a home with no other dogs. Seems to get along okay with cats, but has never lived with one. NOT good with children. Good at noticing birds even before you do and will keep your fenced in garden free of birds and other small pests. Loves to be with his person constantly and seems to be a one person dog. He will need an experienced Schipperke home with someone who is willing to continue working with him.  If interested in adopting Pepper or for more information please contact:

COOPER
Bellingham, WA

11/3/08

Sex:
Male Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Age: 18 months Health Status: Current vaccs; microchipped
Size/Weight: 10 lbs or less

Cooper is a delightful little male Schipperke who is available for adoption in Bellingham, Washington State.   He is very friendly with people, dogs and cats, and seems like one happy fellow all the time.  He plays gently with other Schipperkes and takes long quiet naps at my feet during the day.   He is well-behaved and polite, a joy to have around.   Cooper is currently enrolled in a basic obedience class just to get the basics down (sit, down, stay, come’ere) and is doing very well.   He passed his temperament evaluation with flying colors and is ready to adopt very soon.   Like all Schipperkes, Cooper can express strong opinions of his own and will need an owner who will kindly be in charge at all times.   The Schipperkes also have a propensity for escape so a safely fenced yard is mandatory, as is keeping him on leash whenever out of confined area.    Cooper is SPDR*-affiliated and available for a $200 tax-deductible donation – www.spdrdogs.org where you will find the Adoption Application Form.    If interested in finding out more about Cooper, please contact:   Janet in Seattle at 425-776-7312 / jelegg@earthlink.net --  or Deb in Bellingham at 360-756-2708 / galloping4ward@yahoo.com
