This is a new page dedicated to Schips that have managed to go walk-about, much to the dismay of their beans. If you have or know of a Schip that is lost, we will post the information here in the event someone has found your missing fur child. To do so, please send an email to ldouglas@schipperkerescue.net with the following information:

● Your Schips approximate weight and height
● Where precisely in your area you Schip was last seen (street or intersection)

If you have found a Schipperke, please contact your local shelter or animal control immediately. If you are in the area of one of those listed below, also contact the person on the listing.
Remember, just because a dog has no collar or is found running loose, does not mean that the owner does not love or care for the dog properly. Schips are notorious escape artists and love to chase small animals and investigate interesting smells. They have slipped collars, darted through legs, opened doors and windows, squeezed through the tiniest of holes, dug under or climbed solid and well-installed fences, moved concrete blocks and other amazing feats just out of their insatiable curiosity. Please don't assume their slaves don't want them back. There are many tears being shed for each of the dogs listed here.

Approximately 12 week old puppy found on 2nd Avenue on December 27, 2007. He is crate trained, leash trained and also "aware" of where "potty" is. He was wearing a collar but no tags. Lacy, our Schipperke dog wondered away from home on Saturday, 12/8. She is 2 yrs old, weights 10 pounds, is 12 inches tall, with solid black fur. Her last sighting was in Franklin Grove, IL. She is a very loving friendly companion and missed by the entire family. Lacy is a very friendly dog, so friendly, if you said Lacy, she’d almost jump into your arms. Found Saturday 4/21/2007 @ 6:30PM young male Schip. He was found on 11000 block North P Street in La Porte,TX 77571.
He is wearing a collar with 2 rabies vac tags attached. I tag is 2006 vac in La Porte, TX. Unable to trace this tag with the vet as the number shows to be issued to a cat. (?) The second tag is a 2007 vac tag issued by Ozark Animal Clinic in Ozark, AL. I will contact the Ozark vet on Monday to see if they are able to trace the owner.

12 yr old schipperke, neutered male, 18 lbs (schipperkes are small black dogs with no tail, pointy ears, and people never seem to guess his size right - has been described as anywhere from 10-30 lbs) no microchip, no collar no meds, but he does have a urine leakage problem at times when he sleeps.
He will probably be curious and friendly, but isn't always kind to other pets and may snap if he is handled roughly.
Lost in the area south of Thurman Ave and North of 104, between High St and Parsons Ave.

Have you seen Cody? He is a neutered, male Schipperke, 10-1/2 years old. He is a typical Schip, no tail, 19-21 lbs (may have lost weight). Smallish, thin face. Has not been around strangers but loves to ride in the car. He accidentally got out through the door of his home. Last seen near Fayette and Harrison Streets or Broad and Harrison. Not wearing collar and is not microchipped or tattooed. Has slight limp when weather changes. Often seen with tongue sticking just slightly between front teeth. Loves to kiss. Cinder is approximately 29 lbs. and about 16 inches tall at the shoulder. He went missing on Saturday afternoon during the thunderstorms of which he is terrified. He is likely hiding and afraid to come out. He is quite skittish and not likely to come when called. This is Beetle. She is sweet, and when she went missing was a pudgy 20 lbs. She disappeared from her home around 10:00 AM on March 26, 2006 and was last seen near Highways 917 & 731 (Joshua/Egan area). She cannot jump due to a leg injury and may be in need of medication for occasional outbreaks of pancreatitis. Her bottom teeth stick out just a little so she looks like she's smiling.
