Most pure bred dogs and cats have clubs or special rescue groups dedicated to them.  Using one of the major search engines, simply run a search on "________ (breed name) rescue" and you should find any number of sites to help you.  Be sure to include the quotes and follow that with your state (e.g. PA) to help narrow your search. 

Schipperke Club of America  -  SCA is the national Schipperke breed club.  They handle purebred Schipperke rescue nationwide.
