Schip Mix Courtesy Postings
As noted previously, although SRN has a number of Schipperkes in our foster system, most of them have health or age issues that make it difficult to be able to adopt them out. However, we feel they have a right to all the love and care that younger, healthier pups have, and, therefore, maintain these wonderful dogs in permanent foster homes as long as they can have a positive quality of life. And there are some that come into SRN care, who require initial medical care, evaluation and training before they can be adopted out. In a relatively rare breed, this leaves very few that are ready for adoption at any given time.
BUT, that leaves many individuals and families who love the Schipperke breed with limited options when it comes to purebred dogs.
Although SRN does not have sufficient resources to bring in every dog who appears to be at least part Schipperke, we have created this page to give you access to information about those we deem are at least a good part Schipperke and are available for adoption by shelters, animal controls, individuals, and veterinarians around the country.
Below you will find whatever information we have about the dogs and contact information for you to use to address whomever has custody of the dog(s) at the current time. The best thing you can do is fill out an SRN Adoption Application and save it to your desktop. Then contact the individual or organization who has the dog in which you are interested and be prepared to send them the Application should they request it.
In addition, you can find more Schipperke Mixes on an independent rescue FaceBook Page.
And to all of you who are willing to adopt one of the wonderful pups needing homes,
SRN thanks you!

A wonderful local veterinarian reached out to us about a dog she took in. She took Winnie in after she was hit by a car and abandoned. She is 34# and 8-10 years old. We think she may be a Schipperke mix.
Winnie is a senior sweetheart! She was found with serious injuries sustained from being hit by a car. Her tail was crushed and she had extensive soft tissue injuries to her back end. After having her tail amputated and lots of wound care, Winnie is almost completely recovered from her injuries and now just needs a home!
Winnie is gentle, quiet and calm. She loves everyone, especially if you give her a treat. She hasn't shown any aggression towards other dogs or cats. She is housetrained and crate trained and walks nicely on leash with no pulling. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative and current on heartworm prevention (Proheart) and flea prevention (Bravecto). Her guardian angel also did a dental on her to clean Winnie's pearly whites.
Can your group help us place this sweet senior? She is fully vetted and we can help with transport.
