About SchipperkeRescue.Net, Inc. (SRN) SchipperkeRescue.Net (SRN) was established in 2005 in Lancaster, PA, as an online platform to facilitate the rescue and placement of Schipperkes across the United States. SRN is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.
The original SRN website provided a resource that could be used by reputable rescuers to list the locations they served and dogs they had available for adoption.
The original SRN website provided a resource that could be used by reputable rescuers to list locations served and adoptable dogs. The website also served as a source for those seeking to adopt a Schipperke or who had to give up their dog. This network brought together enthusiastic volunteers who worked to cover medical needs and find homes for displaced Schipperkes. Several very dedicated volunteers stepped up to handle some of the toughest tasks in any organization, such as managing application forms, coordinating transports, providing foster homes, raising funds, and so much more.
Mission Statement As the SRN rescue umbrella grew in scope, along with an increasing number of dogs coming into foster care, fund-raising became a critical activity.
As the SRN rescue umbrella slowly grew in scope, fund-raising became a critical activity due to an increasing number of dogs coming into foster care and associated medical needs. SRN incorporated in 2005 in Pennsylvania, the home state of the original founder, as both a provider and facilitator of Schipperke rescue. This made it possible to receive our 501(c)(3) public charity designation from the IRS, and raise funds to cover essential medical care … and donors would receive a tax benefit. To this day, 98% of all funds raised are assigned for the dogs. Less than 2% is used to cover essential expenses, such as our website.

Over the years, independent rescuers, clubs, and foster homes merged their independent rescue operations with SRN.
Over the years, more and more independent rescuers, clubs, and foster homes merged their independent rescue operations with SRN. This consolidation of human and financial resources resulted in a centralized core to better coordinate efforts associated with rescuing Schipperkes and securing funds to cover their medical needs. SRN remains a very small rescue organization, and we are fortunate to be supported by volunteers and foster homes throughout the country, which has resulted in an effective safety net for Schipperkes.
